Patti advocates for policy solutions to keep California’s low-income older adults stably housed and reduce the prevalence of older adult homelessness. She leads training and legal capacity-building for legal services and other advocates to strengthen older tenant protections and prevent homelessness. She is a recognized expert on housing and homelessness among older Californians, and frequently testifies before state legislative and administrative bodies. She has served as co-chair of the Disability, Aging and Community Living Advisory Committee (DACLAC), chairs the Older Adult Homeless Prevention Steering Committee, and serves on the Coalition for Statewide Solutions to Older Adult Homelessness.

Prior to joining Justice in Aging, Patti worked at the Child Care Law Center, the Public Interest Law Project, and as Director of Litigation for Community Legal Aid in Massachusetts. Patti’s legal services advocacy spans 39 years. She has extensive experience litigating individual and class actions in state and federal court in the areas of public benefits, health care, fair housing and workers’ rights. Patti has taught courses on Welfare Law and Social Policy, Family Law, and Labor and Employment Law.

She is a graduate of Middlebury College and Northeastern University School of Law. In her spare time, she is an avid swimmer and cyclist.
