Alex joined Justice in Aging in 2022. In her role, she provides strategic programmatic support and capacity building to managing directors and programmatic teams to advance organizational objectives internally and externally. Alex enjoys thinking creatively to bring streamlined solutions, efficiency, and operational support to the team.
Alex grew up in a three-generational household where she and her parents both provided home care for her immigrant grandmothers. More recently, Alex has been a full-time caregiver to her mother since 2019. Her experience in navigating patchwork systems of care and living through the many ways these systems fall short for working families has shaped her views about aging and equity. She is proud to be part of the team because Justice in Aging’s mission aligns with her beliefs that the needs of communities who are most historically and systemically marginalized must be centered in every policy decision and program.
Alex holds a Masters of Public Health and MA in Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from UC Santa Cruz.
Alex is based in San Diego, California. Beyond her role at Justice in Aging and caregiving, she is passionate about gardening, cooking, connecting with friends, hiking adventures, and travel.
