How are CA social service advocates preparing for GOP budget cuts?

Fifteen million Californians are on Medi-Cal, which is the state's version of Medicaid. As many as 3.4 million people in California will lose their health coverage because of this bill, according to Governor Gavin Newsom’s office.

How are social service advocates preparing and what message do they have for Californians who are concerned about what's to come?

Amber Christ discussed how cuts in the form of work requirements would specifically impact older adults aged 50-64 as well as caregivers, and how implementing work requirements would put enormous strain on the state's administrative capacity. She also talked about how to Medicaid cuts impact older adults on Medicare who rely on Medicaid for long-term care, oral health care, vision, and hearing that Medicare doesn't cover.
