Due to systemic injustices and life-long discrimination, older adults who are immigrants face barriers in accessing the care they need, and suffer poorer health and other inequitable outcomes as a result. Justice in Aging believes every person has a right to access health care without discrimination and in their own language and that one’s immigration status should not impact their access to services and programs. Justice in Aging advocates for policies that support older immigrants’ rights to language appropriate, non-discriminatory health care, income supports, housing, and other services.
