Fall is open enrollment time for both Medicare beneficiaries and enrollees in the Affordable Care Act Health Insurance Marketplaces for 2021 coverage.
- Medicare open enrollment starts October 15 and ends December 7
- Marketplace open enrollment takes place November 1-December 15
- Covered California open enrollment starts November 1 and ends January 31 (Enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1)
Justice in Aging has updated our national and California fact sheets that provide the essential information advocates for older adults need to know about this year’s open enrollment periods for both Medicare and the Affordable Care Act Marketplaces. Changes consumers make to either their Medicare or Marketplace coverage during open enrollment will take effect January 1, 2021.
