This webinar took place on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, 11:00 a.m. PT / 2:00 p.m. ET.
Beginning July 1, 2022, the Medi-Cal asset limit will be increased from $2,000 to $130,000 for a single person. This is a significant change for older adults and persons with disabilities, the only population groups subject to an asset test under Medi-Cal today, who will now be able to save money for emergency expenses, for a security deposit, and prevent the loss of housing. In January 2024, the asset limit will be eliminated completely.
Join Justice in Aging & Western Center on Law and Poverty for the webinar, Medi-Cal Asset Limit Increase: What Advocates Need to Know, to learn more about the implementation of this important change and how your clients can benefit from the increase and eventual elimination of the asset limit in Medi-Cal.
In this webinar, we:
- Explain how the asset limit increase will be implemented
- Explain which Medi-Cal programs the asset changes apply to
- Explain what are countable assets under the Medi-Cal program today
- Explain how the asset limit increase will benefit Medi-Cal enrollees starting July 1, 2022
