As of October 2022, California now requires all counties to maintain a Backup Provider registry for individuals using In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) and Waiver Personal Care services. The Registry can be accessed by individuals already enrolled in IHSS or by individuals transitioning to the community from institutional care and have not yet identified a provider.
