Medi-Cal provides essential coverage to over two million older adults and disabled adults in California, including coverage for Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS). HCBS enables people to receive care and support in their homes and communities instead of institutional settings. But administrative barriers, limited ability, and confusing requirements can make it difficult for Medi-Cal members to get the services they need.

This webinar, Advocating for Consumer Access to HCBS in California, will provide advocates and direct service providers with an overview of all Medi-Cal HCBS programs in California and how advocates can help consumers access them.

This webinar will include:

  • An overview of California’s HCBS waiver and state-plan programs, who is eligible for them, and who administers them
  • How advocates and service providers can help Medi-Cal members apply for HCBS services
  • Common barriers and advocacy tips

Who Should Attend:

  • Aging, disability and legal advocates
  • Community-based providers
  • Direct service providers in the Health and Social Services field
  • Public administration and state and local government professionals
  • Other professionals who serve low-income older adults and people with disabilities in California
