Older adults regularly rely on language access protections, including interpreter services and translated materials, to navigate complicated programs and services that allow them to age with dignity. We are working with partners to actively monitor the implementation of Executive Order 13166 and to protect the rights of older adults with LEP to access programs and services in their own language.

The House of Representatives passed a budget resolution mandating trillions of dollars in cuts to Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and other programs that help older adults meet their basic needs, all to pay for tax cuts for wealthy Americans and corporations. The vote places Medicaid directly in the crosshairs for unprecedented cuts of at least $880 billion.
